Responsibilities
Senior Embryologist will be responsible for performing technical procedures in the IVF Laboratory
Senior Embryologist must demonstrate profound knowledge and skills related to all the types of procedures performed in the IVF Laboratory
The Embryologist reports directly to the IVF Lab Director
Perform daily, weekly, and periodic function checks and maintenance on equipment
Follow appropriate blood borne pathogen handling and disposal procedures
Media and dish preparation with sterile technique
Documentation of all procedures and aspects within IVF Lab, including SART reporting
Oocyte retrievals
Oocyte denuding
Follow lab protocols and procedures to ensure a double witnessing standard with other lab members
Document all patients’ results and report to physician and clinical staff
Fertilization checks
Perform freezing and thawing of human embryos according to IVF lab protocol with a high survival rate
Oocyte vitrification and thawing
Perform oocyte inseminations and ICSI according to IVF lab protocol
Perform Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) according to IVF lab procedures resulting in high fertilization rates
Embryo transfer with physician
PESA, MESA and TESE procedures, including processing, freezing and thawing
Embryo biopsy for PGT
Embryos biopsied result in a high survival rate when thawed and an acceptable implantation rate when transferred
Other duties as assigned
Weekend work will occasionally apply according to batching schedule
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in lab based science
4+ years experience in IVF laboratory
Fully trained in all senior level embryology skills
